A kid can never be happy unless he’s having fun. And, when it comes to education and learning, fun is not an option. However, all that is about to change with STEAM Carnival, a traveling, educational themed circus that is bound to change the lives of children of cities that it visits. Taking inspiration from other education games, the STEAM Carnival takes a very distinct approach to teaching and learning.
Created by famous entertainer and inventor Eric Gradman and Brent Bushnell, an entrepreneur, the STEAM Carnival is going to be a revelation once it begins touring. It should be noted that creativity is available in abundance; Bushnell’s father, Nolan Bushnell, was the cofounder of Atari. The STEAM Carnival is likely to be similar to a traditional circus, but rather than focusing on illusions and random tricks, the STEAM Carnival is going to be focused upon engineering, math, arts, pyrotechnics as well as science. A number of conventional challenges are also going to be present, with a distinctive tech twist however; a game of milk bottle hoopla with pyrotechnics involved, robot battles as well as gesture controlled claw crane games are all likely to be worthwhile additions.
The best thing about the STEAM Carnival is that apart from having fun at the circus, the founders plan to create ‘kits’ that children can take home with them, allowing them to recreate their favorite projects back at home. This not only inspires creativity, but provides unique and new ideas to children.
The STEAM Carnival began as a project on Kickstarter, and has already met its target. It has a launch date set anywhere in next spring, and will launch in San Francisco and Los Angeles in the beginning. With fire, lasers and robots, this is definitely going to be unlike any other carnival you’ve ever visited! And, with a focus on arts, science, technological enhancements, pyrotechnics and mathematics, the STEAM Carnival is going to be the perfect option for young children who are showing an interest in these subjects!
